YEA Leadership Weekend 2.0

Scholarships Applications are OPEN!

Information: YEA Leadership Weekend 1.0 and YEA Leadership Weekend 2.0 is an opportunity for the future leaders of the industry to learn more about ASHRAE society, develop soft skills, reflect on personal traits and strengths, and network with other young professionals.

ASHRAE Life Members Club awarded YEA funds for this scholarship to be used for registration (Priority) and transportation (Secondary) costs associated with attending a leadership weekend 1.0 or 2.0 up to $1000 USD*. Note, the registration fee includes most meals!

*A minimum of 4 winners will be awarded up to $1000 in scholarship funds, with the flexibility of additional winners if funds allow. Funds would allow if a scholarship winner is able to have their travel sponsored by another means, like their self, their ASHRAE chapter, or their workplace.

All registration cost would be covered upfront by ASHRAE. Registration typically lands between $580-$600. For YLW 1.0, there is an optional tour available the day before which include another night at the host hotel for +$200 on top of the registration fee.

The individual would need to book their own flights/transportation and then submit a travel reimbursement form for the remaining amount of the scholarship.

EXAMPLE:

YLW 1.0 Seattle registration is $580. I would like to attend the optional tour the day before and network with attendees before the weekend officially starts, so I would register for another +$200, putting me at $780 total. This leaves another $220 for me to apply towards my flight to get to SEA.
Or, I'm unable to do the tour, and would instead apply $420 towards my transportation.

Criteria: All applicants must be ASHRAE members. For 1.0, you must be under the age of 35. For 2.0, you must have attended either 1.0 or YLI previously (do not need to be YEA).

Deadline: All applications must be received by the end of the day on August 29th and will be awarded by September 15th.

2025 YEA Leadership Weekend 2.0

YEA Leadership Weekend 2.0 (YLW 2.0) is designed to provide additional, more advanced resources to YLW alumni. For this continuation of YLW, we bring back Ralph Kison to facilitate and expand on the skills he taught at the existing YLW event. As YLW alumni, you’ve had the opportunity to use the resources and connections you gained at YLW to not only grow your professional careers, but develop your participation within ASHRAE. The purpose of YLW 2.0 is to continue that growth and development, and hopefully inspire even further leadership skills and aspirations!

Registration

The 2025 YEA Leadership Weekend 2.0 will be held May 30-June 1, 2025, in Charleston, South Carolina at the Charleston Marriott. Registration is $600 and includes hotel accommodations for Friday and Saturday, meals during the event (dinner on Friday, all meals on Saturday, and breakfast and lunch on Sunday), and all necessary materials and resources. Airfare and any ground transportation costs are not included.

YLW 2.0 Registration is Now Open to More members!
Effective March 10, 2025

We are thrilled to announce that registration for YLW 2.0 is now open! This year, we are extending the opportunity to any ASHRAE member over the age of 35 or any YEA member who holds an active management or leadership position. This means that even if you haven't attended a previous YLW event, you are still eligible to join us for this incredible experience.

Please note, there is an additional fee of $300 to complete the required TRAITS assessment, which was part of YLW 1.0.

Curious about what YLW events are all about but missed your chance to attend YLW 1.0 as a YEA member? Well, this is your year to dive into the ASHRAE-renowned event! We understand that many members were disappointed to miss out on YLW 1.0, so we are excited to test-run this program and allow more members to sign up, even if they haven't met the prerequisite.

Travel Information: The event starts at 2pm local time on Friday, May 30, 2025 in Charleston, SC. It is highly recommended to please book your flight to land in Charleston no later than 12:00pm local time. The event ends by 12pm local time on Sunday, June 1, 2025. We highly recommend that you please book your return flight no earlier than 2pm local time so that you are able to get the full complete experience of the weekend. If you are unable to find flights that accommodate these times, please let me know.
